The world’s first website

In 1954 at CERN (“Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire”) founded by the European Union (with the sole purpose of studying the composition of the universe). From here a British scientist named Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web (www) in 1989.

The first website was created at CERN in 1993; its original link was posted online, which can be visited at http://info.cern.ch

This screen is what you can see over 26 years ago; it was merely a text explaining the world wide web and some of its features.
